Master and Post-graduate Education and Training in Multi-disciplinary Teams Implementing EPBD and Beyond
In order to achieve the implementation of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive and the 20-20-20 targets set by the EU, it is necessary to design optimal energy efficient buildings by applying an integrated multidisciplinary design approach. This means that architects and specialists like mechanical, civil, and HVAC engineers, energy experts and installers should work together in multidisciplinary teams from the beginning of the design process to the end of the building process.
On 1st May 2007 the SUNRISE project has started.
The objective of Sunrise project is to enhance co-operation with important stakeholders such as the building sector and utilities. With reduced levels of subsidies the production of PV systems has to be more cost-effective if the PV industry wants to be competitive with conventional energy production.
In February 2007 the Building Advent project has started. The main objective of this project is to support a reduction in the energy required to deliver ventilation effectively in non-domestic buildings. Information on the project can be found in the website: http://www.buildingadvent.com.
